About this item

  • Three concerns, one serum: works on active congestion, post-acne marks and uneven tone at the same time, without layering three separate products.
  • Azelaic acid 10%: gently exfoliates inside the pore, calms redness and helps prevent new blemishes.
  • Kojic acid 1,000 ppm: limits tyrosinase activity to fade dark spots and post-acne hyperpigmentation over time.
  • Dual tea tree delivery: 10% leaf water plus encapsulated leaf oil at 50 ppm soothes inflamed skin; a gentle shake before use activates the capsules.
  • Light and layerable: water-like texture absorbs quickly and sits easily under moisturiser and SPF.
  • Gentle credentials: vegan, cruelty-free, non-comedogenic, drying-alcohol-free and dermatologically tested for sensitive skin.

Description

The PURITO SEOUL Azelaic Acid 10 Kojic Tea Tree Serum targets breakouts, dark spots, and uneven tone. One lightweight formula handles all three. It delivers 10% azelaic acid alongside kojic acid and a dual dose of tea tree. Both leaf water and encapsulated leaf oil are present. Azelaic acid keeps pores clear and calms redness. Kojic acid fades post-acne marks and hyperpigmentation. Tea tree soothes and helps control future breakouts. Niacinamide balances oil and supports the barrier. The texture is water-light and fast-absorbing. A gentle shake before use activates the tea tree capsules. They burst on contact with skin. The serum sits easily under moisturiser and SPF. It is dermatologically tested and suitable for oily, combination, acne-prone, and sensitive skin types.

What This Serum Does for Your Skin

Breakouts and dark spots rarely arrive alone. A blemish fades and leaves a mark. That mark can take weeks to shift. Meanwhile, new breakouts form. The PURITO SEOUL Azelaic Acid 10 Kojic Tea Tree Serum works on active congestion and the marks left behind at the same time.

The formula pairs 10% azelaic acid with kojic acid and a dual delivery of tea tree. Azelaic acid gently exfoliates inside the pore, reduces redness, and helps prevent new blemishes. Kojic acid targets melanin production at the source. This fades dark spots and post-acne hyperpigmentation over time.

Tea tree is present as both leaf water and encapsulated leaf oil. It brings calm to inflamed skin and helps keep bacteria in check. You get a serum that addresses three distinct concerns without layering three separate products.

The Key Ingredients Inside

Azelaic acid at 10% is the headline ingredient. This concentration is well-established for blemish control and pigmentation. It gently loosens dead cells within the pore lining. This prevents blockages that lead to spots. It also interferes with the enzyme responsible for excess melanin. That helps reduce the darkening that lingers after a blemish. It is anti-inflammatory, so redness settles more quickly.

Kojic acid at 1,000 ppm reinforces the brightening work. It is derived from fungal fermentation and limits tyrosinase activity. That is the process that creates visible dark patches. Together, azelaic and kojic acid target hyperpigmentation through two distinct pathways. The combination is more effective than either ingredient alone.

Tea tree leaf water makes up 10% of the formula. Tea tree leaf oil is delivered at 50 ppm via capsules that burst on contact with skin. This protects the oil until the moment of application. Niacinamide balances sebum and supports the barrier. Bisabolol, glutathione, coptis japonica root extract, and adenosine round out the formula. They calm, protect, and gently smooth.

How Your Skin Responds Over Use

The water-like texture absorbs quickly and leaves no oiliness. The encapsulated tea tree gives a gentle cooling sensation on troubled skin. Most people notice the lightweight feel from the first application.

With consistent daily use, the clarifying effects build gradually. Pores look less congested. Active blemishes tend to settle faster, and new breakouts become less frequent. Some people experience a brief adjustment period as azelaic acid increases cell turnover. This is a normal part of the process, not a reaction.

The brightening effects from kojic acid develop with continued use. Post-acne marks begin to fade. Skin tone looks more even, and areas that were persistently dull start to lift. This is not a spot treatment. It is a full-routine serum for ongoing clarity and tone correction.

Consistent use alongside daily SPF delivers the most reliable results. Azelaic acid and kojic acid both increase the skin sensitivity to UV light. Protecting your skin each morning helps preserve the brightening progress you build over time.

How to Layer It in Your Routine

Shake the bottle three to five times before each use. This activates the encapsulated tea tree oil beads visible in the formula. They release their active compounds on contact with your skin, so this step matters.

Apply the serum as the first active step after cleansing and toning. Its water-like consistency means it goes on before heavier essences, moisturisers, and oils. Pat gently into the skin rather than rubbing. This supports absorption and is gentler on any active inflammation.

The serum works both morning and evening. In the morning, follow with a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. UV exposure can work against the brightening effects of azelaic acid and kojic acid. In the evening, follow with your usual moisturiser. Azelaic acid is generally well tolerated alongside niacinamide and hyaluronic acid.

Who This Serum Is For

This serum is a strong fit for oily, combination, and acne-prone skin. The formula is non-comedogenic, so it will not contribute to congestion. It is dermatologically tested and has been tested as suitable for sensitive skin. The alcohol-free formula also makes it a gentler option for reactive skin types. Anyone introducing a 10% azelaic acid formula for the first time may want to start with once-daily use initially.

It suits anyone dealing with recurring breakouts that leave marks, uneven skin tone, or pigmentation that proves stubborn with hydration-only routines. Azelaic and kojic acid work through different pathways. That makes this a more targeted option than single-ingredient alternatives.

The formula is vegan and cruelty-free. It contains no alcohol. It does carry a natural herbaceous scent from the tea tree content; it is not synthetically fragranced. The price point is accessible for a serum carrying three distinct actives at meaningful concentrations.

If you have been looking for a serum that handles breakouts and the marks they leave behind, without heavy textures or a complicated routine, this is a considered, well-formulated place to start.

How to Use

Shake the bottle three to five times before each use . this activates the encapsulated tea tree oil capsules. After cleansing and toning, apply an even layer to the face. Pat gently until absorbed. Do not rub. This is your first active step, before heavier serums, moisturisers, or face oils. Use morning and evening. In the morning, always follow with a broad-spectrum SPF. Both azelaic acid and kojic acid increase UV sensitivity. In the evening, follow with moisturiser. If introducing alongside retinol, alternate evenings until tolerance is confirmed. If you are new to azelaic acid, begin with once-daily use for the first week before moving to twice daily. Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Keep the cap closed between uses. Pairs well with a gentle pH-balancing toner, a hydrating moisturiser with ceramides or centella, and a mineral or hybrid SPF for daytime protection.

Scared to layer a new active on top of retinol

I used it alongside retinol (different nights) and my sensitive skin tolerated it well after gradually building up to twice a day. … The texture is thicker than Anua, but it absorbs quickly, doesn’t leave a thick, sticky feeling (in my opinion) and isn’t drying (I have combo skin).

If a light, plainly-labelled serum is what you are after, this one keeps it simple.
