The Quench
For skin that drinks everything and stays thirsty
Water put back into your skin. And kept there past lunchtime.
2–3 weeks
This is for you if…
- Skin feels tight soon after washing, even with cream
- Fine lines look deeper when you are tired
- Skin looks dull and papery by mid-afternoon
- Makeup clings or goes patchy
- Skin is oily on top but thirsty underneath

The plan at a glance
The steps
Cleanse without losing water
Morning & eveningClean skin that does not squeak
A pH 5.5 gel that cleans while leaving your skin's own water-holders in place.
Why it matters: Thirsty skin often got that way at the sink. Every squeaky wash strips the water-holders your skin makes for itself. Stop the leak before pouring more water in.
How to do it: Lukewarm, brief, pat dry. Leave the skin slightly damp for the next step.
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
Hydrate
Morning & eveningThe water layer everything else protects
A hyaluronic toner floods the surface with water-grabbers. They pull water in and hold it there.
Why it matters: Creams can only lock in water that is already there. This step puts it there.
How to do it: Apply to damp skin within a minute of washing. Water-grabbers need water to grab. Two thin layers beat one thick one.
- Hyaluronic Acid
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
How to choose between these
The Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner is the workhorse. The Yam Root milk toner is the softer route for thirsty, fragile skin.
Deep drink
Morning & eveningWater that sinks in instead of sitting on top
Small-size hyaluronic acid. The tiny pieces sink further than a single surface layer can.
Why it matters: Surface water fades by lunchtime. Water at more than one depth is what makes skin feel quenched at 4pm, not just at 8am.
How to do it: A few drops pressed over the damp toner layer. Do not wait for it to dry. Move straight to the seal.
- Hyaluronic Acid
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
Lock
Morning & eveningKeeps the water you just put in
A cream forms the lid on the layers below. Without it, the water you applied dries back out within the hour.
Why it matters: This is the step oily-but-thirsty skin always skips. It is why the thirst never ends. Watery layers without a seal can leave skin drier than before.
How to do it: Apply while the layers underneath are still damp. Oily skin: a thin layer, everywhere. Dry skin: be generous.
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
How to choose between these
The Yam Root milk cream is the balanced default. Pick the ceramide moisturiser when your skin's wall needs rebuilding as well as sealing.
Overnight seal
WeeklyEight quiet hours of repair
A thicker overnight layer. It slows water loss to a crawl for eight hours straight.
Why it matters: Sleep is the longest repair window your skin gets. Extra cover through that window, two or three nights a week, speeds the whole reset.
How to do it: Two or three evenings a week, use a thin layer in place of the cream as your last step.
- Ceramides
- Centella Asiatica
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
