Seven Skins
One toner, seven layers — the original hydration method
One gentle toner, up to seven pressed layers. The old method for deep hydration, at the price of patience.
7 minutes an evening. Your layer count shows up in the first week.
This is for you if…
- Thirsty skin that laughs at single applications
- You own a good toner and use a tenth of its potential
- Big routines do not appeal. Deep ritual with one product does
- Winter tightness that creams alone do not answer
- Skincare as quiet time does not sound silly to you

The steps
Cleanse
Morning & eveningClean skin without the tight, squeaky feeling
Removes oil, sweat, sunscreen and the day's grime at pH 5.5. That is your skin's own level. Washing takes off the day, not your skin's protection.
Why it matters: This is the step most people get wrong first. A harsh wash quietly causes the tightness and flaking the rest of a routine then has to fix. Start gentle and half of 'problem skin' never happens.
How to do it: Evening: massage gently for 30 to 60 seconds in lukewarm water. Rinse, pat dry. Morning: a lukewarm rinse is enough if your skin leans dry.
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
How to choose between these
Both sit at skin's own pH, so pick by feel. The HARUHARU gel is soft and non-foaming. The safest pick if your skin ever feels tight after washing. The Soon Jung foam gives a light lather if you like a little foam.
The seven layers
EveningOne humble toner, applied like a ceremony
The traditional seven-skins method. The same gentle toner pressed into the skin in up to seven thin layers. Each absorbed before the next. Depth one splash cannot reach.
Why it matters: Thin layers beat one thick splash. Each pressed layer draws the next slightly deeper. And the slow pace gives every layer time to soak. The purest, cheapest form of the K-beauty idea. One toner, seven patient minutes.
How to do it: Start with three layers, not seven. A little into palms, press over the whole face, wait for the tack to fade, repeat. Add layers on dry days. Always seal with your cream.
- Rice & Rice Ferment
- Panthenol
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
How to choose between these
The toner must be gentle, watery and low on fragrance to survive seven layers. I'm From's Rice Toner is the heritage pick. Soon Jung's pH 5.5 is the sensitive-skin pick.
Moisturise
Morning & eveningSeals the water in, morning and night
Puts a light layer of fats and water-grabbers over the toner. The water you just added stays in your skin instead of drying off.
Why it matters: Water without a seal fades within the hour. The moisturiser turns steps one and two into lasting comfort.
How to do it: A pea-to-hazelnut amount pressed onto still-damp skin. Press and smooth, do not scrub it in. A little more at night is fine.
- Oat
- Centella Asiatica
Pick the one you want. You can also add another product from this step.
How to choose between these
The Purito Oat-In gel if you are combination-to-oily or dislike creams. Oat calms, and the gel disappears into skin. The Purito centella cream if you are normal-to-dry or your skin runs reactive.
